Bajel Projects Secures a Large Order for 765kV Mandsaur Substation Extension
February 6, 2026 – Bajel Projects Limited (Bajel), a leading player in India’s Power Transmission and Distribution (T&D) EPC sector and part of the Bajaj Group, has announced the award of a large order for the extension of the Mandsaur Pooling Station (PS). Classified within the company’s “Large” order band, valued between INR 100 crore and INR 200 crore*, the project represents a key milestone in India’s ongoing efforts to strengthen transformation capacity for renewable energy interconnection.
The contract, designated as the 765kV AIS Extension Substation Package SS 108T, involves the expansion of the existing 765/400/220kV Mandsaur Pooling Station. It forms part of the broader initiative titled “Augmentation of Transformation Capacity and Implementation of Line Bays at Mandsaur for RE Interconnection,” being executed through the Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) route. Bajel is currently executing a 260 route km transmission line from Beawar to the Mandsaur Pooling Station, traversing through Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. This latest win further reinforces the company’s leadership in high-voltage infrastructure, which plays a critical role in integrating renewable energy into the national grid.
The announcement comes shortly after the Union Budget 2026–27, which increased public capital expenditure to a record ₹12.2 lakh crore. The budget underscored the importance of power sector reforms and the expansion of intra-state and inter-state transmission networks as key enablers of India’s 500 GW renewable energy target.
Commenting on the development, Rajesh Ganesh, Managing Director & CEO, Bajel Projects Limited, said:
“Securing the Mandsaur 765kV extension project reflects our technical competence and our strategic focus on ‘winning the right contracts.’ The government has prioritized infrastructure-led growth through significant capex outlays and as India scales its digital and renewable energy footprint, the demand for resilient, high-voltage substations like Mandsaur is paramount. We remain committed to building the infrastructure required for a resilient, energy-secure India while delivering on margin-accretive growth.”
This order win builds on Bajel’s strong operational momentum, following its record Q3 performance marked by significant EBITDA margin expansion. By continuing to secure complex, high-voltage projects, Bajel is advancing its transformation into a specialized power transmission EPC company focused on quality of earnings, operational excellence, and long-term profitability.
