Gandhian “Warriors” honoured at Jamnalal Bajaj Awards 2019
The 42nd Jamnalal Bajaj Award function was held on 2nd December 2019 at The Royal Opera House, Mumbai. Every year the awardees are selected from four categories viz, Outstanding Contribution in the field of Constructive Work, Application of Science and Technology for Rural Development, Outstanding contribution of the Development and Welfare of Women and Children and Promoting Gandhian Values Outside India.
This year, Bhawani Shanker Kusum, Mohammad Imran Khan Mewati, Shaheen Mistri and Sonia Deotto were awarded for their outstanding contribution in the respective categories mentioned above. Each awardee was presented with a citation and trophy by Sadhguru (Chief Guest), Rahul Bajaj (Chairman, Board of Trustees, Jamnalal Bajaj Foundation) and R.A. Mashelkar (Chairman, Council of Advisors, Jamnalal Bajaj Foundation). Every speaker at the function emphasized and expressed their admiration and belief in the Gandhian way of life, which was also manifested through the lives of Jamnalal and Jankidevi Bajaj. Sadhguru’s enlightening address on self-transformation aptly concluded the event.
