Chandigarh University, Bajaj Auto sign pact for skill enhancement
Chandigarh University and Bajaj Auto Ltd. have entered into a memorandum of understanding to establish a six-month skill development residential programme, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative. The programme, named Bajaj Engineering Skill Training (BEST) Centre of Excellence, will be located on the university campus. It aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry needs.
Bajaj Auto has designed a comprehensive four-stage curriculum for the programme. Admission will be merit-based, with scholarships available to eligible students. The training will be conducted by world-class trainers, focusing on practical skills enhancement using state-of-the-art equipment.
Chandigarh University’s Director General, Hrridyash Deshpande, highlighted the importance of developing students’ skills to meet industry standards. Graduates of the programme are expected to receive multiple job offers upon completion, leveraging their practical knowledge and training on industry-grade machinery. This initiative seeks to enhance job opportunities within India by equipping students with the necessary skills and experience demanded by the industry.
